News From the Board
Annual Meeting and Luncheon was held in the Butterfield Cottage. Approximately 27 people attended. The luncheon was in honor of Helen Gaston. Mayor Don Larson announced that the City of Seaside declared April 12, 2016 ‘Helen Gaston Day’. Steve Wright, President, presented Helen with a framed certificate of the proclamation which acknowledged several of her many accomplishments in the local area and at the Seaside Museum & Historical Society and the Butterfield Cottage. Also present were DAR Regent Sandy Fuller and Diane Collier, Clatsop-Nehalem chair who presented Helen with a blanket and necklace.
Presentations were preceded by a luncheon consisting of clam chowder donated by Norma’s Seafood and Steak, bread from 3 Little Birds Bakery, and sorbet donated by Sea Star Gelato.
Election results: Officers as listed were reelected. New board member Kim Reef was confirmed. The revised By-Laws were adopted.
